To lead this charge, we are launching Sngular Gen (S| Gen).
Part of Sngular Labs, S| Gen is our "radical experimentation lab" where we push the boundaries of state-of-the-art agentic development. How far can we go? What’s the best approach? What is hype versus reality? In this lab, we question everything, maximizing the synergy between human potential and AI.
A New Era in Software Development
We’re already beginning to see some of the key concepts that guide this new approach to development, and while we’ll continue to explore and research them, today we’d like to share a few of them with you.
From AI-Powered to AI-Native
Until now, we’ve used AI as a tool to augment human output—improving speed and precision. But the game has changed. AI has evolved from a simple "power-up" to a new way of working. It now handles the heavy lifting and repetitive tasks, freeing us to focus on what humans do best: creativity, complex reasoning, and strategic problem-solving.
I once read that we don’t want AI to summarize the latest book or movie because we’re "too busy." We want AI to do the laundry and handle the chores so we can reclaim our purpose: watching that movie, cooking a great meal, or solving a meaningful problem.
In software development, AI has become that engine. By absorbing 100% of the mechanical overhead of coding, it leaves us with the high-level responsibility: identifying the problem, architecting the solution, and defining the intent.
We are moving from Human-in-the-loop (HITL)—where humans do the work enhanced by AI—to Human-on-the-loop (HOTL), where humans oversee an AI-native process to ensure the output has meaning, purpose, and integrity.
Shifting Priorities
This new way of working means that code is no longer the centerpiece of the work, nor is it where the value lies, because "anyone can do it." Code becomes a byproduct of the work; now, the value shifts to the specification, the intention, and the precision with which we define requirements and business context.
Another element that is evolving is reviews, which are now becoming exhaustive and automated validations of different aspects, such as behavior or security—unlocking new forms of quality certification. In Europe, the ability to offer AI-native development that complies with regulations like GDPR or the EU AI Act, while retaining intellectual property, could be a key competitive advantage.
And finally, goodbye to technical debt, legacy systems, and complex refactorings. Instead of tinkering with or "patching" bugs, we refine the specification of that functionality, module, or page, and regenerate the code based on that new, more precise definition. Everything is documented—every "why"—and we get rid of old, redundant lines of code.
New roles
This also causes professional roles to evolve. It does not eliminate the need for experts; instead, it transforms their purpose. They won't be professionals who "translate requirements," but rather Architects of Context. Their most valuable skills will be strategy, governance, and orchestration: knowing how to extract technical logic from a business vision without ambiguity, establishing ethical and legal boundaries, and directing these new specialized agents that handle the different phases of development (analysis, design, planning, execution, and verification).
Soft skills related to effective communication, precise language use, and the identification of patterns, connotations, or non-obvious aspects of a problem are being revalued. Our creativity is unleashed: when everything is possible, barriers collapse, and we can more easily leave the mark of the essence that defines us as people.
Our Experience in the Field
Our S| Gen team grows practically every day, taking on increasingly larger and more ambitious projects. Together with our colleagues from other development areas at Sngular, we are confirming that technical knowledge remains critical when solving unforeseen events.
We have also learned that this new way of working brings with it a new way of relationship with clients, which now takes what we call a "U shape." This U model refers to the need for intensive dedication between both parties at the beginning of the project to feed the context and define what is to be built with the maximum possible detail. During code generation, support is specific, and finally we return to a greater peak of dedication focused on final validation.
Nuestro Moonshot
What we seek at S| Gen is that, given clear and robust functional specifications, the system will generate the software and its validation fully automatically.
From our lab we constantly test the latest models and IDEs to ensure the best result and offer AI-native development that is not only faster and more economical, but also guarantees both data sovereignty and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.
We don't do "vibe-coding" here. We seek robust, auditable, and transparent solutions that automatically convert business problems into digital realities. In this way, the solution we deliver is a certified "solution machine," and not just the final source code—the resulting software is only one possible implementation.
To sum up
Our S| Gen team has defined a methodology based on this new way of working, which we are going to start exporting to the rest of the company to address some of Sngular's current and future projects.
We will continue capturing the knowledge of people in the functional definition and design processes, focusing on quality controls and breaking down problems into smaller pieces.
We will be precise in specification like never before and will test models and tools to get the best out of each of them for every given circumstance.
We will iterate, and we will apply patience, enthusiasm, and intention under principles such as observability and the explainability of what is generated, which build confidence.
