The White Mirror community kicks off today! This is how we began the first edition of this event. An event that, as our president Jose Luis Vallejo emphasized, is inspired by the well-known series Black Mirror, in which in every episode, technology spirals out of control and shows us a series of futures that bring out our worst version. With White Mirror, we want to highlight our humanity for the good, and show that, despite the fear of technological revolutions, a future in which technology accompanies us and helps us to be better in every sense is also possible.

José Luis added that "we are missing the counterbalance of a society where technology makes us better and more human." That is why White Mirror is a space composed of visionary and nonconformist minds, who already form a living community committed to our future, to our humanity for the good, and with the purpose of using technology in a way that makes people better and more human.

After a captivating presentation, we moved on to action: a key survey and the talks presented by our speakers—a stellar panel.

We didn't want to start without first knowing the public's opinion: what dominant topics did the White Mirror community believe we would be talking about in 10 years?

We asked before and after the talks, and... pay close attention! The results changed. Before the talks began, these were the most relevant topics in descending order:

  1. AI and Quantum Computing.
  2. Biotechnology and Longevity.
  3. Socio-labor Impact.
  4. Ethics and Humanism.
  5. Sustainability and Resources.

After the talks, the survey results shifted: Ethics and Humanism jumped from 4th place to top the ranking, while AI and Quantum Computing dropped to 3rd place.

What will society be like in the coming years?

We began with a big question, starting a multidimensional journey toward the future that awaits us.

A key talk, moderated by Fernando Rada, on how society will change in the coming years, featuring Pilar Jericó of Be Up, Enrique Samper of Life Length, and Carolina Miyata of Prodigioso Volcán, who left us with fascinating insights such as:

"We try to extend our well-being as much as possible. In 10 years, biotechnology will allow us to slow down aging. To live as well as possible, for as long as possible."

"The factor that ages people the most is stress; we are social beings. Artificial intelligence is good because it accelerates knowledge in a hyper-exponential manner. It will help us research, generate treatments, and medicines," Enrique Samper.

"Meaning enriches our lives: when we work on what we believe in and find meaning in what we do, the prefrontal cortex is activated, and fear is reduced. We are social humans and have a need for transcendence," Pilar Jericó.

"In 10 years, the professional of the future will be the one who best coexists with discomfort," Carolina Miyata.

And... what will the company that succeeds in 10 years be like?

We began the second talk, where strategy meets innovation. Moderated by our Internal Communications Manager, Ángeles García, this conversation included minds such as Isaac Hernández of Google Cloud, Macarena Estévez of Cirentis, and Valentín Bote of Randstad. They shared insights such as:

"We are moving towards better companies and a more enriching world of work."

"Being more efficient, more competitive, with a balance between technology and the human component. The compatibility between internal and external teams will grow, offering much more flexible services." Valentín Bote.

"Companies are going to be more liquid; there will be technological change with quantum technology. They will be hybrid environments between humans and machine agents," Isaac Hernández.

"In 10 years, we will have Artificial Intelligence neurologically implanted in us, and this will multiply our knowledge and capabilities," Macarena Estévez.

But... how do we create this future that we all hope for?

A talk that brought all the pieces together: how to leverage the power each person has to influence the course of events in their environment, their organization, and society.

After exploring how society will evolve and reimagining the company of tomorrow, it was time for Enrique Dans, who spoke to us about how to take action: how to turn ideas into tangible realities and how to leverage the power that each and every one of us has to influence the course of future events.

A very special talk that left us with significant testimonies such as:

"We are moving towards a technology that does not dominate nature but learns from it."

"Collective intelligence between human and machine that unites our creativity and its competence to generate a better future. We are not interested in competing with the machine when it is capable of doing things much better; we must move towards augmented human intelligence."

"Technology reflects us; it depends on where we choose to look, and I prefer to look into the blank mirror. The future is the reflection of our decisions."

Enrique Dans.

In summary, we shared an afternoon full of energy, vision, and commitment where the key word was: purpose. The future is out there; it is a blank mirror reflecting what is yet to come, and that depends on each and every one of us.

Thank you to the speakers for inspiring us and working towards a better tomorrow. Thank you to the attending public for making White Mirror a unique afternoon and to Espacio Jorge Juan for making us feel at home.

And you, what do you think the next White Mirror in 2026 will bring?
