Last week, Atlassian Team’25, the European edition of Atlassian's annual event, took place in Barcelona. It was the stage for all the latest news from the ecosystem: new applications, beta features, integrations... but above all, it was a place for discussion with partners, customers, and the Atlassian team itself about the direction of the ecosystem, the future to come, the most important changes, and the new paradigms on the table. The Sngular team was present to tell you everything firsthand. So let's get to it!

Atlassian Cloud Platform

For the more observant, you'll see that the image that has been used until now has already changed! Rovo is still at the center of the Atlassian Cloud platform, but now it's even better accompanied. Let's break down each of these changes:

You might remember that in Anaheim, Atlassian announced that the Commercial Cloud we've known until now would soon no longer be the only available option. Well, indeed, as soon as 2026 begins, European customers will be able to request Isolated Cloud: isolated environments, designed according to the requirements of each organization.

And just in case anyone still had doubts about whether Atlassian Cloud was a valid option for their organization, they are continuing to expand the user limits so that no one is left out: Jira is now capable of supporting up to 100k users; and very soon Confluence will support up to 250k and JSM up to 50k.

To help all customers migrate to the Cloud in the best way possible, the “Atlassian Ascend” initiative has also been introduced: A comprehensive migration program with FastShift, incentives, and resources to accelerate and reduce the risks of cloud transitions. Remember that the end of Data Center is getting closer every day.

Platform Apps

In Anaheim, we also first learned about Platform Apps, pre-configured functionalities in our Cloud environment that go beyond Jira, Confluence, or JSM: Teams, Analytics, Goals, Home…

It's not just about extra features; they are essential ingredients for the Teamwork Graph to work really well, providing each team with a solid information base on which to make decisions. Some of the news:

Assets****: is now becoming a standalone app, no longer tied only to JSM as before. This way, any team can use it to manage and connect different types of objects.

Projects****: Remember this summer when it was announced that Jira projects would now be called “Spaces”? Well, besides it being a pretty significant demand in the community and because it better defines the character and objective of this element, there was also an important detail: projects now become a platform application to be able to see the status and progress of projects, no matter what space they are being carried out in.

Units: this has been one of the most talked-about new features. New secure and interconnected workspaces have been announced. They are located right between the general organization and the instances, which provides a new layer of control and flexibility. All their functionalities are still being refined, but we will have more details soon.

Atlassian Admin

A special chapter for all those admins on Atlassian Cloud. Several improvements have been introduced that will help us in our day-to-day work:

Portfolio Insights: a free feature that is now available within Atlassian Administration that provides admins with a complete view of the data across different environments, including DC environments, making it really useful for planning the migration to the cloud.

Multiple Sandboxes: very soon it will be possible to have more than 1 sandbox per instance. Only for Enterprise licensing, customers will be able to have up to 5 different sandboxes to be able to test new developments in parallel without stepping on each other's toes. Premium customers, however, will have to buy additional sandboxes if they need them.

Backup & Restore: a new backup and restore experience will soon be available that provides more peace of mind and control over data. Right now you can sign up for the beta to test it firsthand and give feedback to Atlassian before releasing the final version.

Externalization of the Teamwork Graph: from now on, it is possible to access the Teamwork Graph through Forge. This opens up a range of possibilities for creating custom applications and integrations based on Atlassian data.

Management of Teams from the Admin panel: from now on it is also possible to see Teams from the admin menu for unified management. This way, the administrators themselves can delete teams and create new ones when necessary, from the same space where they create users or groups. And take note, because soon it will be possible to identify team typologies and hierarchies.

Rovo: the AI that knows everything, works everywhere, and helps everyone

As you can probably imagine, Rovo has been the most heard word during the 3 days of the conference in Barcelona. Because everything revolves around AI, and in Atlassian's case, everything revolves around Rovo. Since Anaheim, Rovo has been available everywhere, on all plans, and for all users, so its use has increased incredibly in these last 6 months. Some of the most striking announcements these days have been:

🔎Rovo Search

Remember that currently, Rovo Search already allows you to search across any SaaS tool in your company. Yes, any!

But in addition, very soon, any search you do in Jira, you will also do through Rovo. An improved, smarter, and faster experience to locate the information you are looking for.

In addition to the 50 connectors we already had available, some new ones have been presented such as: Jira DC, JSM DC, DocuSign, Zendesk, Databricks, Hubspot. They will be available in the coming weeks.

🗣️Rovo Chat

If you are already using Rovo Chat in your day-to-day, you are going to love these new features that are now available:

  • It is now possible to upload excel, CSV or pdfs directly to the Chat, for Rovo to analyze and even convert that information into dynamic formats of a Confluence page, for example.

  • Rovo has more memory to identify users, interactions, or preferences from past conversations. It places them within the Teamwork Graph and refines the results much better.

  • Voice queries: you don't even need to type in the chat, now you can talk to it directly to get answers.

🖌️Rovo Studio

Remember that Rovo Studio is our creation space. Regarding the creation of agents, we have several new features:

Agents now have “Skills”. Yes, we now have a library available with dozens of skills created by Atlassian, which are really modular building blocks that allow agents to perform specific actions.

13bb899a-b276-4332-a3da-e01c0d389f7c.webp

And that is perfectly complemented by the new “Scenarios”. Different contexts that can be created to customize how agents behave. It makes them smarter and more reliable for very specific use cases.

But that's not all—very soon, any user will be able to create applications with no code, using natural language. Simply by describing what you need to Rovo, Studio will find the solution and build it in Forge in minutes. You will be able to integrate it into any Atlassian application like Jira, Confluence, or Bitbucket. You can now sign up for the waiting list to be one of the first to try it.

One important thing: given the high use of agents by Atlassian Cloud users, it is now possible to see from the administration panel the actual consumption of Rovo credits, to see if we need to expand our plan or notify certain groups. And it is also possible to set permissions to decide who can create agents, who can deactivate them, or who can use them. They will soon expand this granularity of permissions.

The Collections

You will surely remember that in Anaheim, one of the big announcements was the presentation of the Collections. In May, two were announced: Teamwork and Strategy Collection, but now we have learned about 2 new ones.

Teamwork collection

c23483a5-73d6-4d0e-960d-6382d1da31f9.webp

We already knew the Teamwork Collection (Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo), but in recent months they have worked hard on some extra features that will be available from October 15th:

  • Improvements in Loom meeting recordings: live transcription and live actions, predefined summary templates according to the type of meeting, pre-meeting notifications to improve the agenda or topics to be discussed, improvements in the 50+ languages that can be used to transcribe meeting recordings.

  • Global preview panel (Jira and Confluence): a unified and resizable side panel in all applications, which allows users to see related content without leaving their workflow. Reduce context switching and offer coherent experiences no matter where they are.

The ones coming soon also look very promising:

  • Create with Rovo: Rovo transforms your raw ideas into engaging content using prompts and organizational knowledge. Create pages, live documents, and whiteboards. The panic of the "blank canvas" is over. Create with Rovo

  • Bug reporting: Record a video in Loom to capture an error or an issue and then automatically generate the bug directly in Jira from the recording.

  • Create a work item from an image: you can take a photo, for example of a brainstorming session you've done on your office wall, or handwritten notes, and instantly convert it into a Jira work item.

  • Project management skills: The new skills include: dividing large pieces of work into more manageable tasks, updating work items, adding context, and keeping the backlog organized, so we can focus on making decisions and staying aligned.

Strategy collection

The Strategy Collection (Jira Align, Talent, Focus, and Rovo) is also an old acquaintance, but yes, quite a few new features have also been presented:

  • Atlassian Funds: a new functionality in the Focus and Talent applications that shows exactly where investments are going and if they are helping us achieve our goals.

  • Rovo fully integrated into the strategy: offers instant project information, proactive risk detection, automated reports, intelligent search for new talent, and summaries designed for the most executive teams.

  • Strategic Events: a new feature in Focus that helps leaders better manage business planning cycles and adjust course when necessary.

And here come the new additions:

Software collection

0a4d698f-d926-458e-830b-6641631d04d1.webp

A special chapter for development teams, the Software Collection arrives, which includes: Bitbucket, Pipelines, DX, Compass, and Rovo Dev.

  • Bitbucket Pipelines: CI/CD automation to build, test, and deploy software faster and more reliably.

  • Bitbucket: Source code management created for speed, scale, and team collaboration.

  • Compass: A unified catalog with dashboards to manage ownership, standards, and governance of software components throughout the software ecosystem.

  • DX: The latest addition, which brings together surveys and qualitative information about the developer experience with quantitative productivity metrics such as PR cycle time, build/test failure rates, and AI usage.

  • Rovo Dev (now in general availability): your team's AI agent that helps you plan, code, review, and automate repetitive work. It improves code quality and the way development teams work. Some of its functionalities:

    • Rovo Dev Code Reviews (available now): Automated code reviews and acceptance criteria in Bitbucket and GitHub.

    • Rovo Dev in Jira (coming soon): allows you to assign programming tasks and let Rovo Dev handle them from start to finish.

Service collection

a9dcae83-d372-47c6-86bd-e34bfa85ed8e.webp

The Service Collection was recently presented, but we were able to see it in detail in Barcelona. This collection brings together JSM, CSM, Assets, and Rovo Service, to help customers optimize support, automate workflows, and manage assets at scale.

  • Jira Service Management: the JSM you already know, improved and optimized so that any team can do proper service management.

  • Customer Service Management: a new application designed for external customer support with AI-powered features that improve customer experiences and strengthen feedback cycles between front-line support and business teams. Key capabilities:

    • Truly understands the customer's context to provide better answers.

    • Specific AI agents for CSM.

    • Omnichannel support: email, chat, web, or phone. Integrated with Amazon Connect.

  • Assets: A powerful and flexible database to track, manage, and visualize critical assets and services, map dependencies, and keep services running.

    • Data manager is finally available to connect, clean, and reconcile asset data from more than 20 different data sources.
  • Rovo Service agent: AI teammates that improve experiences and productivity across all service work, such as triaging and routing requests, incident resolution, and knowledge generation.

Important information to keep in mind now that this new collection has been presented:

1.Jira Service Management (JSM) will no longer be available for individual purchase. It will only be available as part of the Service Collection.

2.New customers will purchase the Service Collection directly and will automatically receive the JSM and CSM applications, along with the Assets and Rovo agents.

3.Existing JSM customers will transition to the Service Collection throughout fiscal year '26. Once transitioned, they will gain access to the CSM application at no additional cost.

4.The Service Collection has the same editions (Free, Standard, Premium, Enterprise) as the current JSM.

5.The Service Collection will continue to have the same price as JSM Cloud. The CSM application will not have an additional cost.

See you in California?

In 2026, the team returns to Anaheim, California: between May 5th and 7th.

See you there? 🧳

We will gradually break down each of these functionalities, testing them and explaining how you can get the most out of them in your instance. Stay tuned to our Blog, because every Monday we will publish something new.
