We supported Yutopias Systems in the launch of AB360, a pioneering solution to digitally and ecologically transform the construction sector. This application ecosystem empowers developers, architects, construction companies, and facility services to make faster, more sustainable, and more efficient decisions at every stage of a construction project's life cycle.
A new era in construction: towards smart, sustainable, and collaborative building
The construction sector has long faced a paradox: it’s one of the most vital industries for the economy and development, yet one of the least digitalized. While other industries have embraced automation and data-driven processes, construction still relies on manual workflows, opaque information flows, and working dynamics where stakeholder interests often misalign. This hinders fully informed decision-making and creates friction throughout the project cycle.
To this scenario, we must add an imminent regulatory shift: the implementation of new European regulations, such as the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities and the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE), which require construction companies to justify the sustainability of their projects — even before seeking funding.
This combination of structural and regulatory challenges was the starting point for Juanjo Moreno, Eduardo Núñez, and Iván Pérez to found Yutopias Systems. With over 30 years of experience in construction and facility management, they identified a systemic problem: operational inefficiency, misalignment between stakeholders, and a high environmental impact — construction accounts for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions.
"We saw that the issue wasn’t isolated or technical — it was structural. The way projects are conceived, designed, and executed no longer fits today’s challenges. We needed a solution based on data and collaboration to transform the sector from within," explains Juanjo Moreno, CEO and co-founder of Yutopias Systems.
From this diagnosis, they committed to a pioneering solution: a platform that democratizes access to Lean Construction methodology, integrates European sustainability standards, and leverages data for informed decision-making from the project’s inception.

AB360 emerged from various open innovation projects led by Yutopias Systems in collaboration with corporates. In these projects, developers, architectural firms, construction companies, and tech partners like SNGULAR co-created solutions with real impact. This is where the collaboration that birthed the first MVP of the platform began.
AB360 is a collaborative platform designed for the entire life cycle of a building. It’s a suite of applications that integrates artificial intelligence, real-time data, and methodologies like Lean Construction, aiming to optimize decision-making and boost efficiency in every project phase.
Democratizing lean construction
AB360 incorporates the principles of Lean Construction as one of its foundational concepts. This approach adapts efficiency principles from the manufacturing industry to construction, eliminating waste, optimizing processes, and maximizing value from the customer’s perspective. Once considered complex and inaccessible, this methodology is now available through intuitive, user-friendly features thanks to AB360.
PIM: Modeling processes for impactful decisions
A key innovation is the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) to digitally model physical building components. But AB360 goes further with PIM (Process Information Modeling), adding a new layer to model processes, decisions, and stakeholder collaboration. As Juanjo notes, "this evolution allows us to anticipate deviations, prescribe solutions, and increase project traceability."
Sustainability at the core
For Yutopias, sustainability goes beyond environmental impact — it also includes company productivity and the well-being of all project participants. AB360 integrates this broad vision, enabling structured and objective performance measurement across these dimensions.
A cornerstone of this approach is alignment with LEVEL(s), the European framework for assessing building environmental performance across their life cycle. With this integration, AB360 allows users to calculate the environmental impact of each decision from the design phase, making developers, architects, and builders more aware of their choices and empowering them to opt for more sustainable alternatives.
Rather than treating sustainability as an abstract goal, the platform makes it a tangible, measurable criterion, helping meet regulatory requirements and driving real change in how projects are conceived and executed.
"Our view of sustainability goes far beyond the environment. It also encompasses profitability and positive social impact. That’s why we needed a tool that integrates all these dimensions," explains Eduardo Núñez, COO and Co-founder of Yutopias Systems.
Putting data intelligence at the service of construction
En un sector históricamente fragmentado, la toma de decisiones basada en datos es clave para reducir la incertidumbre, anticipar desviaciones y mejorar cada etapa del proyecto. AB360 adopta este enfoque —conocido como Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM)— como uno de sus pilares fundamentales.
«Una de nuestras grandes apuestas a nivel de infraestructura ha sido Google Cloud*. Necesitábamos una plataforma que ofreciera fiabilidad, escalabilidad y velocidad para gestionar datos complejos en tiempo real*», destaca Juanjo.
Google Cloud aporta una infraestructura robusta y segura que permite procesar grandes volúmenes de información en tiempo real. Gracias a esta base tecnológica, AB360 puede integrar fuentes y formatos muy diversos —desde archivos BIM y memorias técnicas en PDF hasta imágenes e información generada en obra por sensores— y transformarlas en datos útiles para la toma de decisiones.
Esto no solo mejora la capacidad de análisis, sino que también permite automatizar procesos, anticiparse a problemas y escalar soluciones en un entorno que tradicionalmente ha operado con herramientas aisladas y poco conectadas.
From Weeks to Hours: How AB360’s Simulator Speeds Up Cost and CO₂ Estimations
As a first step within AB360, Yutopias Systems developed an MVP focused on a high-impact area: a simulator for cost and carbon footprint estimation in the early stages of construction projects. With Sngular’s tech support, they created a tool that lets users quickly and easily calculate cost per square meter and CO₂ emissions during the initial design stages.
The simulator allows users to input basic project info — such as earthworks, structure, interiors, or systems — and returns two key indicators: estimated cost per square meter and kilograms of CO₂ emitted per square meter. It also breaks down data by construction solution, allowing for even more refined decision-making.
"The simulator enables project estimators to spot potential deviations early and adjust key elements in the project’s initial phase. This avoids progressing with flawed studies that would later need to be redone. Thanks to this tool, core elements can be analyzed quickly, yielding reliable ratios for subsequent viability or conceptual design phases," explains Eduardo.
Since its launch, the simulator has delivered clear, measurable improvements in user company processes. It has drastically reduced analysis times, from two weeks down to just a day, boosting technical teams’ agility and responsiveness without extra resources.
It has also significantly improved cost and emission estimation accuracy in early stages, allowing for earlier detection of deviations and smarter decision-making from the outset. In some cases, this has resulted in up to 60% reduction in emission deviations, and enabled teams to assess more bids in less time, with greater reliability.
"What used to take us days, we now solve in hours — even minutes. But it’s not just about saving time: the simulator helps us make better decisions from the start. It’s made us more agile, more competitive in tenders, and more confident in each project’s viability," highlights Juanjo.
A Collaboration Driving Change From Within
The alliance between Yutopias Systems and Sngular has been more than just a tech development — it’s become a strategic collaboration grounded in trust, shared vision, and joint execution. What began as a technical challenge evolved into a solid partnership that turned an idea into a real-impact tool for the sector.

Through its Open Lab open innovation program, Yutopias Systems continues to develop new AB360 features — such as advanced simulation modules, planning and workflow management tools that integrate project communication and data, and OKR dashboards — all with the aim of scaling the platform and generating value throughout the building’s life cycle. Their vision is clear: to digitalize and make construction sustainable through data, collaboration, and concrete action.
