Fernando, Sngular’s Head of VR & New Interfaces, helps companies leverage cutting-edge immersive and video gaming technologies.

Fernando brings more than 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur and senior executive in the mobile, gaming, and digital media industries. Co-author of Fred (1983), the first game ever distributed in Spain, he was also Co-Founder and Chairman of Zigurat Software, one of the pioneer Spanish video game companies during the golden era of Spanish software. Many internationally successful titles followed, including World Rally Championship (1993), awarded “Best European Coin-Op Video Game” at the Frankfurt Fair (1994). He entered the mobile game market as Co-Founder and CTO of Gaelco Móviles and successfully launched Fernando Alonso Racing (2005), the most downloaded mobile game in Spain ever. He went on to found other gaming companies, including Wildbit Studios, where he began collaborating with Sngular, and successfully developed and launched Playstation’s CoolPaintrVR video game using VR technology.

Fernando earned his bachelor’s degree in physics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He also has a masters degree in image, advertising, and corporate identity from the Universidad Camilo Jose Cela, where he currently is co-director of the Official Master in Video Game Creation, and university professor in Video Game Production.

He is also a member of the Spanish Interactive Arts and Sciences Academy, and was awarded in 2014 the Prize for a Professional Career by Retro Madrid and AUIC, and nominated in 2018 to the list “50-Over-50 in Video Game Industry” by Game Advocacy.
